Hard work but worth it!

We did it again!

Today  myself and 15 amazing volunteers conquered the summit of Pen y Fan, South Wales highest peak!

The weather was in our favour at a balmy 20c with a fresh breeze at the top!

Our youngest volunteer Miss Amber Still, aged just 6 years old and  from Carmarthen, amazed us all by not only making it to the summit but by regularly jogging back down to talk to and encourage the other volunteers!

Her older sister Miss Lauren Still aged 10, inspired us all with her determination and endearing attitude to make it to the top without breaking a sweat!

At just 8 years old and upon reaching the top, Master Taylor Maunder from Pontyberem summed up the ethos that Lads Without Dads are trying to promote in a single sentence…

” I have 2 fathers (His biological father and his step father) I loved climbing that mountain today as it is going to help boys who don’t have any father.”

A few of us decided to take our mountain bikes and cycle the decent. This was as fun as it was challenging however plagued by punctures and tourists it was not quite the ‘rampage’ we were hoping!

Everyone else who attended surpassed themselves to comfortably achieve the summit and marvel at the spectacular views..

This was our 2nd sponsored event and yet again was a complete success. Once we have collected all of sponsors  we will let you know how much we managed to raise towards our mission.

Our next event is the free paintball and team building session for 20 Lads Without Dads. Details of this are on our previous post and Facebook page. Please contact us if you have a young man who would benefit from this experience..

We will be organising many more activities for these young men so please continue with your inspiring and generous support.

Thank you everyone,
