Our Mission

Our Mission is to advance in life, relieve the needs of and help young men between the age of 8/18 years old who do not have a father figure/ positive male role model.

We aim to give these young men the Education, Opportunities and Experiences that would otherwise have no access to.

Such as camping and fishing trips, bike rides, learning to surf, attending football matches and sports events. A whole host of activities usually undertaken by father and son.

Our focus will not be entirely on leisure time activities.

We want to engage these young men in experiences that teach respect for the natural world, their communities and themselves as individuals.

We believe that through our programmes we will identify the issues and problems these young men are facing and as a result help them to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

We are working towards raising funding to purchase a local piece of woodland with the vision of this becoming our base, as opposed to a rented building in the city center.
This will significantly reduce our future running costs and we will also be able to offer almost all of our intended programmes on site.

Some of our plans for this area are:

Erecting sustainable shelters/Eco buildings/yurts and teach these processes. These could also be rented out for holidays when not in use and could generate significant revenue.

Having camping areas.

Clearing an area and having poly tunnel’s/green houses for growing organic fruit and vegetables and to teach the process. Also potential to raise revenue through the sale of these items.

To have some livestock, chickens and ducks etc. To teach respect and care for these animals, a source of organic, free range food that could also be sold to generate revenue.

To dig and stock a pond for fishing. Also a potential for revenue raising.

To hold activities there such as archery, bike rides, camping, football, fishing among many others.

To teach these young men the importance of sustainability, woodland maintenance and general respect for nature.

To teach sustainable, transferable life skills in the hope creating a more positive ethos.

How we aim to do this:

  • Through the provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare and designed to improve their conditions of life
  • By providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
  • By acting as a resource for these young men; providing advice and assistance as well as organising educational and physical programmes and other activities as a means of advancing education and relieving un-employment.

Being a newly founded and very small organisation we are starting from the very beginning and as a result need as much help and support as we can generate.

Thank you!
